Rainbows End

I had the most amazing day on Saturday celebrating Toni's 28th Birthday with a trip out to Rainbows End in Auckland! The day was pretty much perfect for it with there not being any rain, no drops or anything, it wasn't the warmest, but it was still so amazing!

We went on the motion master, and pirate ship before heading up to the fear fall!!! I was freaking out a little on the fear fall going up, and then waiting for it to drop from the top, the first time I screamed with my eyes shut the whole way down!  I screamed a lot that day... oops (la).

I have been to Rainbows End I think twice before this time, last time was five years ago! Not much had actually changed, just one new ride added- don't remember what it was called though, oh and the fact I don't think I am as much of a dare devil as I use to be... Still love amusement parks though, still want to bungy jump too! :)

I never got any pictures from Rainbows End as the camera decided not to want to co-operate with the new SD card that got put in before we left that morning.

Allie and Ollie

When these two hear a car, hear people, hear the cats, or hear anything that could possibly mean attention to them they will go up to the front door (ranch slider) and sit waiting.  If they see a human, especially either Mum, Wendy or me, they will sit wagging their tail as though their butts will wag off!! 

There are constantly dog toys lying around the house as the basket of Allie and Ollie's toys sit in the hallway.. it is often empty when Ollie is around, he loves to go and get one by one and empty it and leave them places- mainly the lounge!!

Allie knows that she is not allowed on the couch at all when people are home, but she will go up there and sleep on it when we are out.  Where as though Ollie knows he's not allowed he will constantly be up on the couch with a teddy playing with it, or "pretending" to sleep.  

Allie loves having Ollie's company and when Wendy isn't at home for a day or more and has Ollie with her, Allie will act all sad, and be really annoying wanting her playmate back!!  

Allie and Ollie get on really well, and love to play together- chasing each other mainly and trying to get the best treats as they sit waiting in the kitchen when you are cooking, or will sit next to you while you are eating.

I went for a little detour on Tuesday...

I went for a detour on Tuesday after going out to a friends house out in Stanmore Bay, I decided to go down a road I never knew existed (I don't exactly know the coast particularly well even though I have lived here for coming up three years!)  I found a picnic stop over viewing place and took a couple of picture- quality is not the best though!

I just love this!  The sea through the trees, you are also able to see a couple islands far away in the distance! The one on the far left I think might be Kauwau, and the one in the middle might possibly be Great Barrier.

Went into the supermarket to find that Whittkers now sells L&P chocolate- it is white chocolate infused with L&P and popping candy!!

L&P is a kiwi fizzy drink, it is Lemon and Paeroa- Paeroa being a town in the North Island where the massive L&P bottle is...

First weekend of the holidays

This weekend has been and gone so fast!!

I went up to a family friends house half an hour up North from where I live on Friday for the weekend where I helped with the garage sale Saturday morning (sitting in the sun mainly) and ended up totally zonked by the afternoon sitting down reading.  Saturday night we just blobbed out and watched a movie ending up in bed at midnight.  After getting up at 7.30am for the garage sale at 8am it was an extremely long day!

Sunday we got up at 8.45am to go to church and then pretty much just blob out for the afternoon talking, reading, and facebooking...

It was a really nice relaxing weekend to begin the school holidays with!!

Finally, its the holidays!!

So I may have been a little slack in the blogging department, I am trying to write once a week or so, and post pictures and that once a week to preferably, obviously that may not happen weekly, I think so far it pretty much has.  I haven't even really had much time on here this last week or so as I haven't been home much and have been busy doing all sorts after school to tie up loose ends as the term finished.
I have my holidays now, and have a lot of school work to do these holidays sadly as mock exams have been brought forward two weeks to normal times that they occur.  I also have work, a first aid course, and sleep to get done.

Yes, I said sleep, I haven't had particularly much of that over that last fortnight, in fact I don't think I have made it to bed before midnight either, maybe 11.30pm if I am lucky, so that is something I want to change over the holidays.

Wednesday night it started getting really cold, actually Tuesday as well, there is a cold snap in New Zealand again, and on Wednesday the desert road got closed due to snow, sadly Auckland doesn't get snow though :(.  I have never been in proper snow that I remember, I know I went to Whakapapa ski field place when I was seven but I don't remember, and I went to snow planet (fake snow field in Silverdale) when I was 15 with my brother Daniel, but thats about it.

Apparently I am not able to upload the video from school because it is to long to send to my laptop as it needs to be downloaded to go into here instead of being from my photos.

So instead I am going to add these of the puppies that I have just found.

This is a puppy trying to get in through the cat door, I said I reckon they will be in by the end of the day, mum said otherwise... little did we know... I got home from school that afternoon and found Jasper inside... the next day... five of them (all expect Dolly).

This one is just Allie and a puppy sitting by mums bag... listen carefully though nearer to the end of the clip as mum gets a text message and as to how the dogs respond... 

Only a week to go!

There is now only one week until the mid year, winter school holidays!  It has been a long time coming, and I cannot wait!

I have two internals to do over the holidays so far- for biology extension and for social studies.
I am also doing a re-validation for my first aid certificate, and I will also be working, I have been given three shifts so far, hopefully I will get more!

For the rest of my life I have no more full terms of school after this week, as next term we have a week in the middle where I will be having mock exams and it is also only a nine week term.  For term four I will only have three-four weeks as I go on study leave at the beginning of the November after prize giving on the 6th (I think).

My exams start around the 14th November and my last exam is December 3rd! Then high school will be over... FOREVER!!

I am going to try and upload the video a friend made from 2012/2013 from lunch times, and study periods of some of my friends and I again, this video has been a pain to try and upload as I can't do it from my photo library, but I may have found a way through emailing and downloading it to my laptop and doing it like that, if anyone has any other way of putting it in here please let me know!!

Knee Update #2

Monday July 1st I went back down to see my knee surgeon in Auckland at the clinic where I got really good news from him- that being that healing and everything is on track, in fact, better than he expected!!

I am even going back to work in the school holidays, back to cleaning and doing the laundry at the local geriatric hospital.

I am back to walking relatively normal, going up stairs totally fine, just down can be a problem sometimes for some reason, but overall, I am only taking the pain killers when I need to and am generally a lot better knee wise.  Swelling and brusing is still there, but at a minimum.

If you have seen my Facebook, I did post a thank you status for those that have helped and waited etc at school :)

Katie and Em (pups)

On February 6th 2013, Allie gave birth to 6 puppies via c-section.  By the middle of April they had all gone to their new homes.  We have kept in contact with 2 of them who live only 10 minutes from us.

This couple brought 2 of the little girls that they have named Katie and Em, formerly Andee (named by a friend of mine) and Dolly (named by my Granddad).

We got to go out to see them when they were 12 weeks old, they are now 5 months old (as of July 6th) and last night we have been able to go out to their place and see them and their owners again, this time we went out to their house for dinner too.

Here is a picture that I managed to get on my iPad before switching to Mum's Galaxy Phone as it has better picture quality.

I will update more photos if I can when I get them from the phone to my laptop.

I am not to sure as to what puppy this is, as I can only tell by the colour of their collars- Katie is red, and Em is Blue.
