Knee surgery

I tried writing this yesterday but blogger had a spaz at me and decided to delete this post!

Yesterday was D Day for my surgery.  It went pretty good until I got up to go home which I went all sick and pale so I got put back on the ward to be monitored for a couple more hours where they put an anti nausea patch behind my ear to help.

I had an arthroscopy done which is a look inside of my knee with a camera to find anything that they didn't already know was there just incase.  And then they the proceeded with the rest of the procedure which was to cut my tendon holding my kneecap so that it wont be attached in the same was as before because that was what was causing all of the pain I got in my knee.

I have a lovely fat bandaged up knee and I am also practicing to walk on it normally, well slightly weight baring at the moment with the help of crutches.

I do have the next week off school, but I am going in for a meeting in a couple of hours and will probably go back in on Tuesday for the day, or for as long as I'm not in pain.

I am really glad that is is done and dusted now to wait a year or so to see if it has fully worked.

Pictures of it to come..
Me in hospital just after recovery
And, the difference in knee size.

Drivers Licence

After school yesterday I went and sat my full drivers license test.  I passed it which now means that I am a fully licensed driver and I am allowed to drive anytime, anywhere, and with anyone.  Exciting stuff!!

I got my learner license on my first go back in April 2011, and then my restricted license also on my first go back in January 2012, and now I have my full which I also passed on my first go.

On my learners I had to always have a supervisor with me (mum) and I also had to have 'L' plates on the car.

For my restricted the 'L' plates got chucked and I was allowed to drive on my own with no passengers unless I had a fully licensed driver and also between 5am and 10pm.

Now that I have my full, I don't have any legal curfew and I am also allowed passengers.

I have been issued with a temporary paper license until my actual one comes in the mail which should be in the next week or so.

Libby Cat

This is how I found Libby while I was doing my homework and Mum doing the dishes... she made herself quite comfortable on Mums work bag... You see, Libby decides that anything that is someone else's (including the dogs bed) she claims as hers to sleep on.  Those teddies in the background- they are Allie's (dog) if I put them away in her toy box she will get them straight back out again.

SkyWalk

I did it, and I made it out alive!!

Myself, Dylan, and Lisa- before we went up to go and do the SkyWalk.

"On the Edge", as a sort of challenge Dylan (Instructor/ Guide- he was Canadian and knew more about Auckland than we all did.)

Dylan got Lisa to come over to me and pretend to push me off the platform.

Lisa and I.

Larissa, myself, and Lisa- We had organized Lisa and I to do the skywalk together and Larissa must have been booked into do it at the same time too.  She is a german AuPair who has been here for five months, and will be here for another two.

Looking over the edge! Scary at first then I got use to it and could quite happing lean over and take a good look around the amazing city of Auckland, New Zealand.

This was an absolutely amazing experience that I got to have, I am so happy that I did it and I now and thinking of doing the SkyJump too.

My Saturday

You know it's been a good day when you have been to work in the morning and come home to sit in front of the telle glued to it for three hours watching recorded programs from the week or so before that i had not gotten to watch yet, before being productive and going on to do my biology internal.

Putting in number after number on a spreadsheet for six weeks worth of measuring 25 snow pea plants every three days.  It is time consuming, and hard on the eyes with black and white fuzzing all over the page after setting the tables up to put the numbers into.

Super super excited for tomorrow! Mother's Day AND the skywalk!!

The skywalk: Take Two

This Sunday, 12th May, I am going to do the skywalk- take two.

It was originally scheduled to happen a few weeks ago, but the people I'm going with were sick.

Last night when I was up there they asked me to come over to the dinning room where they had a tape measure... Little did I know, 1.2m is not much at all! They were busy showing me that that was how wide the platform would be that we are walking along!

Then this morning on the way to school, I got told that it isn't a solid platform too.... That there are holes that are holes in, which means that you are also going to be able to see the ground!!

I am very excited... Just not so keen on the not so wide, with holes in it platform.

The reason to start...

The reason that I have started to use my blogger for blogging is mainly to keep family and friends overseas updated with what I have been up to and also to be able to update and for you to be able to see more photos of what I have been up to and just life.

I originally made this account for this purpose, and then decided against it, I also made it to follow other blogs that I have been reading for over a year now.
