18th Birthday!!

Well, yesterday, November 5th was my 18th birthday and also my last day of high school ever!!!!!!!!!

Pretty good day to end on too!
I had Lisa be the first person to sing/ say happy birthday to me, I had my last day of school, with no school work being done, playing cards in study, pranking the school/ teachers, had ALOT of fun, and got to go out to dinner.  Highlight would be my brother Daniel remembering and calling me during interval at school!!!
Here are some photos from my birthday dinner last night, in Mission Bay in the city with Mum, Wendy, Danielle and I.  I will add more picture when I have got them from Mum's phone.

I also have my graduation tonight, so I will post on that soon too, with more photos :)

More arm wrestling in Bio, for the last time ever!!

TV Habits.. Told you I would

Yeah, my tv habits are not the best.

I spend maybe two hours infront of the TV some days, none other days.  I record a lot of programs on the TV box to watch later as often I am not home to watch them.  It doesn't help that when i go away for two weeks all the programs set to record get deleted though... Parents that don't know how to work the telle...  That instance I was able to catch up online though, so it wasn't too bad.

Every night I record/ watch Home and Away which is an Australian program that aires over here mon-fri at 5.30pm, and then Shortland Street which is a New Zealand program airing also mon-fri at 7pm.

Then I also watch a couple mindless comedies or just random programs where you don't really have to follow whats going on which means you don't have to think to hard!! Ha.

The one hour weekly shows I watch are Grey's Anatomy (finally caught up on during the last school holidays!!!), Private practice (I haven't yet started watching this season thats been on for a couple months... they are waiting for me...) and when we did have Sky TV I would constantly have Air Crash Investigation on as I have a love for planes and just the mechanics and stories behind it all.  Doesn't scare me off flying either!!

I have a love for documentaries too but we don't exactly get that many any more because we only have freeview and not sky which means that we have the basic TV programs you can get here.

On December 1st the whole country will be digital and that means that you must have a box which you get the TV channels through, for most people (everywhere but Auckland/Northland) are digital already.  Its been in process of happening for the last 2 years or so.

I miss the sky, but I managed to get Mum to buy the freeview box that recorded 2 channels at once while you can watch another.  If we didn't have it, we would be paying a ton in internet usage as I would be streaming it through tvnzondemand or the TV3 one...

How do you write so much about TV your wondering? I have no idea what the answer is to that apart from the fact I like waffling and thats how I managed to pass a Bio test I just did a couple days ago... add in the right term in the right context and waffle your life away... and then pass, more than the pass rate threshold too!! LOL.

Back on the bike

And so today, it marked the day of my first time back riding my bike- I had no pain in my knee it was so good! I haven't ridden my bike since at least May (when I had the surgery) and so to be back on it as the warmer weather is showing now, getting warmer leading up to summer!

On the way we stopped for lunch, then we saw the damage from the recent storm that passed through which happened to be at its strongest when it is high tide, on a king tide so the sea levels were rather high and took out a lot of the built up sand around the coast, you can see evidence of this all along the Orewa Beach stretch of the coast which is a good few kilometers long (five I think).  There is barriers all up along the beach front and the grass just goes straight down and all the tree roots are showing- that is all that is holding the beach front.  There is still a lot of debris on the beach as well.

I don't have pictures of the South end of the beach where the damage is a lot worse as the height of the sand/grass walls are a lot higher!!!

Even old steps were uncovered...

This use to be covered in sand...

Saw this mailbox too- very cool!

We then went and got ice-creams...

And Allie got licks too- her treat :-)

Allie and Ollie

When these two hear a car, hear people, hear the cats, or hear anything that could possibly mean attention to them they will go up to the front door (ranch slider) and sit waiting.  If they see a human, especially either Mum, Wendy or me, they will sit wagging their tail as though their butts will wag off!!

There are constantly dog toys lying around the house as the basket of Allie and Ollie's toys sit in the hallway.. it is often empty when Ollie is around, he loves to go and get one by one and empty it and leave them places- mainly the lounge!!

Allie knows that she is not allowed on the couch at all when people are home, but she will go up there and sleep on it when we are out.  Where as though Ollie knows he's not allowed he will constantly be up on the couch with a teddy playing with it, or "pretending" to sleep.

Allie loves having Ollie's company and when Wendy isn't at home for a day or more and has Ollie with her, Allie will act all sad, and be really annoying wanting her playmate back!!

Allie and Ollie get on really well, and love to play together- chasing each other mainly and trying to get the best treats as they sit waiting in the kitchen when you are cooking, or will sit next to you while you are eating.

Jasper

My little puppy (I claimed him as mine when we had them from birth till when they went to their new homes) Jasper is the only one which we don't have contact details for sadly, so as I have posted a picture of him recently on my instagram I thought I may put a few pictures of him on here.

Just 10-15 minutes old (Mum and I got to rub their belly and backs to get them to breathe after they were taken out of Allie's stomach, we had to be super fast and rough as their was only the two of us as the vet was delivering them, and the vet nurse was monitoring Allie's stats closely)

I chose him as mine as he has a 'J' on his chest)

The guts!! Jasper would go around scoffing everyone else's dinner then go and eat his, I ended up having to take him away once he had what he needed.

He wanted in, this was taken through the window.

Playing in the grass.

My little smooth coated boy- with massive paws, and long legs!!

Just before he left to go to his new home- held by mum.

Sweet Treats

Here are some of the cakes that I have made with my friends over the last six months.

I really enjoy baking, especially when it is for someone else, I just don't like the dishes and cleaning up afterwards.

I have a love of sweet, sweet, and more sweet :).

This is the cake Taylor and I made for mums 51st birthday.

I made this cake for my Uncle for helping me with the construction for my biology experiment.

It must have been the beginning of April for my friend Danielle's 17th birthday we decided to bake a cake together, it wasn't exactly an ordinary cake that you may bake... It was quite different, well to the normal chocolate, vanilla, or banana cakes normally made around my house for birthdays.  This was a PIGGY cake of sorts.

A couple weeks after we had made that cake, a really good friend, Judy, that I had made at school from Germany was leaving to go back, and so for her last night in New Zealand we had a sleepover at  Taylor's house and made her a "Goodbye Cake", it was the best Vanilla cake I have ever had!!

Then recently during a study period at school as when we have them period 5 after lunch we are allowed to leave school at lunch time, Taylor and I went over to her house and we made cupcakes which got shared with her family, and her neighbors little girl.

I hope to be making more soon :)

Drivers Licence

After school yesterday I went and sat my full drivers license test.  I passed it which now means that I am a fully licensed driver and I am allowed to drive anytime, anywhere, and with anyone.  Exciting stuff!!

I got my learner license on my first go back in April 2011, and then my restricted license also on my first go back in January 2012, and now I have my full which I also passed on my first go.

On my learners I had to always have a supervisor with me (mum) and I also had to have 'L' plates on the car.

For my restricted the 'L' plates got chucked and I was allowed to drive on my own with no passengers unless I had a fully licensed driver and also between 5am and 10pm.

Now that I have my full, I don't have any legal curfew and I am also allowed passengers.

I have been issued with a temporary paper license until my actual one comes in the mail which should be in the next week or so.
